The work for the 4th Assessment Report of the IPCC (AR4) is in its final phase. In these months, the reports of the three Working Groups (WG1: the Physical Science Basis - WG2: Impacts, Adaptation and Vulnerability - WG3: Mitigation of Climate Change) are in the phase of the so-called 'governmental review', which is the second review after the 'expert' review at the end of last year. The governmental review ends in September. In the following months the comments will be sifted and the reports will be revised, if appropriate, supervised by the review editors.

The final reports and the Summaries for Policymakers will be approved by the Sessions of the three Working Groups on the following dates:
- Working Group 1: 29 Jan - 1 Feb 2007 (Paris)
- Working Group 2: 2 - 5 April 2007 (Brussels)
- Working Group 3: 30 Apr - 3 May 2007 (Bangkok)

The reports will be published soon after their approval by the working groups.
A synthesis report will be prepared until the end of 2007.
