Mountains and climate change

From understanding to action

The publication presents the state of knowledge about climate change in the mountain regions worldwide. It shows climate change impacts on water, glaciers, natural hazards, biodiversity, food security and migration. The report, prepared on the occasion of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change UNFCCC 2009 in Copenhagen, underscores Switzerland's commitment to sustainable mountain development.

It aims to create awarness about potential changes and related challenges for global development. It is published by CDE, the Centre for Development and Environment of the university of Berne/CH together with SDC - Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
