Magazine Dimensions and Newsletter The Networker
The IHDP magazine
Dimensions
is designed to reach a wide range of readers who are interested in global environmental change, sustainability, and the central role human societies play in shaping our planet. Published on a biannual basis, Dimensions will be IHDP’s premier dissemination outlet for key findings from its portfolio of projects, as well as contributions from distinguished scientists in the field. While the former IHDP-UPDATE was written for scientists within and outside of the IHDP community, the new DIMENSIONS now also targets the public and policymakers. The electronic IHDP newsletter
‘THE NETWORKER’
is the main publication for the science community. IHDP's quarterly newsletter highlights news from IHDP network and contains information about Human Dimensions events, calls and other activities that are relevant and interesting for the whole research community. As the name suggests, the Networker focuses on bringing the whole research network together, keeping them in touch with IHDP and with each other.

IHDP Update 01/11 (2011)
Human Health and Global Environmental Change
Questions about the links between global change, health and the environment have become critical to human well-being. For example, extreme events in different parts of the world (e.g. H1N1A), made the global community aware of how rapidly emergent diseases can be widely transmitted virtually anywhere. While the natural science and medical communities have had a head start in drawing together the connections between health and the environment, it has become increasingly apparent that the IHDP community has a key role to play in addressing health as a cross-cutting issue.

IHDP Update 03/09 (2009)
Governance as a Crosscutting Theme in Human Dimensions Science
Analysis of institutions and governance has long been at the heart of IHDP research. It is a field of study which IHDP scholars have defined and shaped and where hugely significant scientific advances have been made. This current issue presents an opportunity to reflect on the research undertaken so far in different projects, to see how the agenda is being taken forward, and to examine Governance as a crosscutting theme in IHDP research.
