ProClim- Forum for Climate and Global Change of the Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT) was funded 1988.
It serves as an interface between science, public administration, politics, economy and the public.

The thematic range of ProClim- covers the World research programs WCRP, IGBP, IHDP, ESSP and the topics covered within the IPCC reports.

Our foci:

• To enhance knowledge exchange and networking within the science community


• To further international cooperation and the integration of Swiss researchers in international assessment reports (e.g. IPCC)


• To inform decision-makers in politics and economy as well as the public


• To support decision-makers in politics, economy and administration with recommendations regarding relevant questions, synthesis reports and informative meetings.

Furthermore, ProClim-

• hosts the secretariat of the Advisory Body on Climate Change OcCC


• organizes meetings for the parlamentary group "Climate Change"


• acts as interface to the International Human Dimensions of Global Change Program (IHDP-Switzerland) on behalf of the SAGW


• runs the secretariate of the interacademic commission on energy (a+ Energy-Commission) on behalf of the Swiss Academies
