11 Principles and 7 Questions
Based on an extensive consultation process, the KFPE (Commission for Research Partnerships with Developing Countries) has completely updated its 11 Principles for Research in Partnership – which have been in use for over 10 years already – and has integrated current trends and experience. In addition, the KFPE has also developed 7 fundamental questions that point to factors enabling or hindering research in partnership. The 7 questions are meant to help users to better understand and implement the 11 KFPE principles. They examine various aspects of research partnerships and also intend to stimulate reflection and debate.
In addition to the above-mentioned documents, a special web platform for the 11 principles is under construction (www.11principles.org), in collaboration with the University of Lugano (see NewMinE Lab). The web platform is intended as a tool to help make research partnerships successful.
