PAGES: Status Report and Implementation Plan (IGBP Report No. 45)

IGBP-Report No. 45 contains a status report and implementation plan of the IGBP core project Past Global Changes (PAGES). It summarizes the recent progress of the project and outlines implementation plans for most of the current foci, activities and tasks within the PAGES remit. The plan first introduces scope and rationale of PAGES science and explains how PAGES is organized structurally and scientifically to achieve its goals. The objectives of the project are presented in the form of key questions related to general IGBP objectives, and the report also outlines the strategies with which PAGES sets out to meet these goals. It also offers a very brief overview of the current state of knowledge about climate variations in the geologically recent past.
The report can be requested from the IGBP Secretariat, Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, Box 50005, S-10405 Stockholm, Sweden.
