Research agreement between Switzerland and the European Union

Full association of Switzerland to the 6. Framework Programme (FP6) by 1st January 2004

Finally Swiss researchers are foreseen to be fully associated to the 6. framework programme by January 1st 2004. As soon as the renewed agreement is effective, Swiss researchers will have the same rights and opportunities as their partners from EU member states and they will receive their funding from the European Commission. As associated member state to FP6 Swiss researchers can coordinate European research projects and have better access to the Marie-Curie Fellowships. Swiss representatives will have the right to vote in the programme committees of the European Commission to settle the general conditions for the thematic priorities in FP6. European Conferences can be organised by Swiss research communities funded by the EU in the near future.
